THE FIND
Hole in One
The byproduct of a clever clothing line: darling toddler t-shirts.

Do you prefer doughnut holes to doughnuts? This idea is similar. To make her signature The Hole Thing sweaters, Louise Cady-Fernandes buys up thrift-store wool sweaters, felts them with repeated trips through the washer and dryer, then cuts holes into the thick fabric. Wear one with a colored shirt underneath, and the holes become windows. A cute byproduct (and heres where the doughnut holes come in): Cady-Fernandes recycles the cut-out pieces and appliques them onto toddler-size T-shirts in a caterpillar design ($32 at Homeward Bound).
