High-cost home loans by ethnicity and income
Those same four neighborhoods also have the highest proportion of minority residents in Boston. What’s more, black and Latino Bostonians are more likely than whites to get a high-cost loan regardless of income. Some lenders discriminate among customers or target minority neighborhoods. And people of color may have less wealth, financial education, or trust for banks.
