Carol J. Dooley
Carol J. (Dushac) Dooley, 47, a member of the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association, died Monday in Hospice House in Reading. A graduate of the Army ROTC program, Mrs. Dooley was a first lieutenant from 1977 to 1983. She was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. She then worked for several senior-living communities, including Brooksby Village Retirement Community in Peabody and Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Community.
Born in Aliquippa, Pa., she lived all over the world, from El Paso to Taipei before settling in Tewksbury with her husband, Richard. In addition to her husband, she leaves her parents, Raymond and Sarah (Hoffmeister) Dushac of Midland, Pa; a daughter, Jennifer of Tewksbury; three brothers, David Dushac of Aliquippa, Richard Dushac of Matthews, N.C., and R.J. Dushac of Dubois, Pa.; and a sister, Teresa Strangie of Tewksbury. A funeral was held Thursday. Burial was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
Harold T. Marston
Harold T. Marston, 82, a sergeant who spent more than 30 years in the military, including service in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, died Feb. 4 at Weymouth Health Care Center. The Auburn, Maine, native spent more than 15 years in the Army before joining the Air Force as sergeant of radio control. After completing his duty, he worked as a corrugated box designer for 15 years at Westvaco in Watertown. He retired in 1981. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks in Brighton.
Mr. Marston leaves two daughters, Maureen of Holbrook and Virginia Marie Stacey of Quincy; a son, Harold Ted Jr. of Plano, Tex.; two sisters, Miriam Harris and Charlotte, both of Maine; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial was Wednesday in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Malcolm Newell
Malcolm Colburn ''Mac" Newell, a lifelong resident of Hingham, died Feb. 6 in the home he was born in and had lived for most of his life. He was 82. Mr. Newell, a 1940 graduate of Hingham High School and a 1947 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, served in the Army's 106th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron in France during World War II. Mr. Newell was a prisoner of war in Germany and Czechoslovakia from 1944 to 1945.

Harold Geyer Jr.
Harold Carl Geyer Jr., an etcher and author, died Feb. 3 on Martha's Vineyard. He was 99. Mr. Geyer, a Chilmark resident, combined a variety of talents to create illustrated books including ''All Men Have Loved Thee: A Song of France" and ''The Long Way Home." An elected associate of the National Academy of Design, Mr. Geyer, who received a master's of fine art in architecture from Yale University, was a painter, photographer, and poet. Many of his etches are on display in national collections in Washington and Paris. Mr. Geyer's love of travel took him across Europe and North and South America.
He married Ina Helen Doane in 1949 and the two lived in New York and Martha's Vineyard. He leaves no immediate survivors. A memorial service was held yesterday in First Congregational Church of West Tisbury. Burial was in Abel's Hill Cemetery in Chilmark.![]()
