TULSA, Okla. -- Evelyn Roberts, the wife of evangelist Oral Roberts, died Wednesday in a California hospital, a day after suffering a head injury in a fall. She was 88.
Mrs. Roberts fell in the parking lot of a dentist's office, striking her head on the pavement and causing massive internal bleeding, said Jeremy Burton, a spokesman for Oral Roberts University.
The couple's children, Richard Roberts, the university's president, and Roberta Roberts Potts, flew to Newport Beach, Calif., on Tuesday to be with them.
Oral and Evelyn Roberts married more than 66 years ago, and she worked with her husband to build his television ministry and university.
Mrs. Roberts wrote several books, including ''His Darling Wife, Evelyn," ''Heaven Has a Floor," and ''Evelyn Roberts' Miracle Life Stories."![]()
