Mary Lambert, wife of Fall River mayor

FALL RIVER -- Mary E. Lambert, wife of Mayor Edward M. Lambert Jr., died Christmas Day in Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was 46.

Ms. Lambert was a child-care worker for the Community Development Center and for Head Start. Her cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

Councilor Patricia Casey said Ms. Lambert was a ''very, very special person" and called her death a great loss to the city.

The mayor, her husband of 20 years, won reelection to a fifth term in November.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, James of Fall River; a sister, Anne P. Santoro of Fall River; and four brothers, Gerald J. Ciullo, Daniel P. Ciullo and John P. Ciullo, all of Fall River, and Thomas P. Ciullo of Stoughton.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today in Notre Dame Church in Fall River.

In Grand Rapids, Mich., Dec. 22, at 64. A former teacher at the Calvin Theological Seminary, the Rev. Engelhard was general secretary of the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
