Earl Seale

Dr. Earl Seale, 94, a longtime ophthalmologist in Boston, died Sunday of heart complications at his home in Boston. Born in Meridian, Miss., Dr. Seale graduated with a bachelor's degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He received his medical degree from Tulane Medical School in 1935. Dr. Seale moved to Boston in 1939 and performed his residency at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. During World War II, he was stationed with the US Army in Panama, where he worked as an ophthalmologist. In the 1940s, he opened an ophthalmology practice on Bay State Road and taught at Boston University Medical School and Harvard Medical School. He also worked as a surgeon in ophthalmology for Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 1972, he married Alice (Davis). Dr. Seale retired in 1982. He leaves his wife. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in Old South Church in Boston . Burial will be private.
