Warren J. McCabe, 89; was journalist
Warren James McCabe of Milton, who was with the Associated Press for 45 years, died of respiratory failure May 19 at Caritas Carney Hospital in Boston. He was 89.
Born in Worcester, Mr. McCabe attended Fitchburg State College and Wentworth Institute of Technology and served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. McCabe joined the AP in 1937 in Worcester and worked at various offices before coming to Boston.
Mr. McCabe was a longtime resident of Milton and a lifelong Red Sox fan.
In addition to his daughter, Mr. McCabe leaves his wife of 65 years, Constance M. (Samborski); three daughters, Paula of Falls Church, Va., Justine of New Milford, Conn., and Maryann of Riverdale, N.Y.; and two grandsons.
A funeral Mass will be said at noon today in St. Agatha Church in Milton. Burial will be inMilton Cemetery. ![]()
