Kelly Roberts of Concord has been seeing the same midwife, Deb Gowen, at an Arlington medical practice, since 2000, when she was pregnant with the second of her three children. Besides offering regular maternity and gynecological exams, Gowen has effectively been Roberts's primary care provider, inspecting her skin, palpating organs, doing blood work.
