Hip fracture raises risk of death for a decade

Breaking a hip can be life-threatening for an older person. A new review pooling the results of previous research concludes that while the risk of death is greatest right after a hip fracture, that elevated risk does not disappear even after 10 years. The post-fracture risk of death remains higher for men than for women. (Full article: 566 words)
