Healthcare job training programs merge

Posted by Elizabeth Cooney February 19, 2008 04:08 PM

The Boston Health Care Research Training Institute has merged with Jewish Vocational Services, the two groups announced today.

The new program, which will be run by Jewish Vocational Services, will offer adult basic education, English for speakers of other languages, college preparation, occupational training, career coaching, and employment training for healthcare employers.

The Healthcare Institute, founded in 2000, has helped workers gain jobs with its partners Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Joslin Diabetes Center, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Jewish Vocational Services, established in 1938, brings worksite education to healthcare organizations such as Massachusetts General Hospital, East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, Shriners Hospital, Hebrew Senior Life, Goddard House, and Radius Management.

  1. We are really pleased to work with JVS and the other hospitals on this important set of programs. What a great partner they will be!
