harvey%20lodish%2085.bmpA quasi-public state agency that will distribute millions of dollars a year in grants and tax credits under Governor Deval Patrick's life sciences initiative has created a scientific advisory board to offer technical advice and oversight.

Massachusetts Life Sciences Center said today it has named Harvey F. Lodish (left), a founder of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and a professor of biology and bioengineering at MIT, to lead the board, which will have from 10 to 12 members. Their initial charge is to develop a peer-review process for proposals made to the agency's $12 million matching grant program.
