Marketing mavens, Part 2
Any Red Sox fan can probably tell you what the official hospital of the team is (and the supermarket, auto glass repair company, car, etc.).
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center staffs a first-aid clinic at Fenway and promotes its Sox relationship, but the deal is limited to naming rights. That means its doctors don't treat the players nor do they have specific knowledge of their health.
One new wrinkle this year is the BID Injury Report on the Red Sox website, with such stories as "Bending (and stretching) like Beckett" and "Avoiding injuries starts in Little League."
The experts consulted in the column are official members of Beth Israel Deaconess.
