A Boston consortium of hospitals and engineering institutions that spurs innovation in medical technology has formed an affiliate in northwest England, according to an item on the group's blog today.

The Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology calls Manchester: Integrating Medicine and Innovative Technology its sister organization for its similar model fostering collaboration between medicine and engineering. MIMIT's members include the University of Manchester and Central Manchester Hospital and Manchester Children's University Hospitals. CIMIT and MIMIT have been working together since 2006, CIMIT said.
