Today's Globe: transplant infections, vaccine cases
A 70-year-old woman has died, and a 57-year-old man is critically ill in a Boston hospital after each received a kidney from a donor infected with a hard-to-detect virus, health authorities said yesterday.
The parents of two 10-year-old boys who believe vaccines caused their sons to develop autism brought their case to federal court yesterday, arguing a mercury preservative in the shots caused a rare reaction.
