Headache cluster

Posted by Elizabeth Cooney June 26, 2008 03:36 PM

Did you know nine out of 10 people have at least one headache a year?

No doubt the folks heading to the 50th annual meeting of the American Headache Society starting tomorrow in Boston are all over it. They're probably the ones who see 28 million patients with migraines each year. Headaches are seventh on the list of reasons Americans see a doctor.

The conference at the Boston Marriott Copley Place will include presentations about devices to treat migraines when they start and research on how pain becomes chronic.

No word on the one out of 10 people who don't get headaches. Maybe they're the ones making all the "honey, not tonight" jokes.
