Massachusetts swine flu tally up to 167
By Stephen Smith, Globe Staff
State laboratory tests show that 26 more Massachusetts adults and children have swine flu, with two of the newly diagnosed patients requiring hospitalization, the state Department of Public Health reported this afternoon.
Since the virus first appeared in the state late last month, a total of 167 infections have been confirmed, with 100 of those patients living in Middlesex County. A total of 13 patients have been admitted to hospitals for treatment, although all have recovered.
Only seven states have reported more cases of the disease, caused by the H1N1 virus.

As a concerned parent, I would really like to know what specific towns these cases have been confirmed in. I do not understand why this information is not being released!
thats what i am sayin i have been lokin and cannot find any info... whats this about they tell you to be informed then give halfass info whats up with that.....
I notice that WHO and many parts of the world are very concerned about the swine flu situation and pointing clearly that almost half of all cases in the world are in the US - N. America is the epic center with the US having most of the cases. Many people in Japan and China are wearing masks on streets. On the other hand, the media in the US are not even talking much about it and no one seems to be wearing masks anywhere in subways or even in hospitals. I am not sure why there is a huge discrepancy. One possible explanation is that Asia and some other countries went thought SARS and other strong viruses and the US was mostly spared until now. We probably should follow the advice better and the CDC probably should start suggesting something more concrete. We need to protect lives, not just the economy!
