What do Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the airline pilot who safely landed a disabled jet in the Hudson River, actor Michael J. Fox, and Boston hospital executive Paul Levy have in common?

All three have been nominated by Beliefnet.com, a major religion website, as a finalist for its "Most Inspiring Person of the Year."

Levy, president and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, was nominated for asking higher-paid employees to make sacrifices, including bigger cuts to their salaries and benefits, to save most lower-paid hospital workers from layoffs. Levy's request, and the staff's overwhelming response to it, received nationwide attention after Globe columnist Kevin Cullen wrote about it last March.

You can read about all the nominees and cast your vote at the Beliefnet.com website.
