After nearly three decades at the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Simmons College, Judy A. Beal has been named dean. Beal held the post on an interim basis since last year and will officially take over July 1. The college includes programs in nursing, nutrition and physical therapy.
Beal began teaching at Simmon in 1983 and has since held various roles, including director of research and leader of the nursing department. She is active with various nursing boards in Massachusetts and nationally. She completed her bachelor of science in nursing at Skidmore College, a master's degree at Yale University, and a doctorate in nursing science at Boston University.
