Charlie Baker is running for the highest position in Massachusetts again in 2014. He ran for the position back in 2010, but lost to Deval Patrick. And with the election set for this November, Baker has already lined up some powerful support from a previous Massachusetts governor.

Governor Bill Weld, who held the position from 1991 to 1997, backed Baker in a new campaign ad dubbed “Charlie Baker: The New Idea Approach.’’ Filmed partly in McGrann’s Irish Pub in Boston, Weld focuses on Baker’s experience as the Secretary of Health and Human Services from 1992 to 1994.

Baker will attempt to get the Republican nomination, where the only other declared candidate at this point is Mark Fisher, a businessman and member of the Tea Party.
