The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is seeking answers after eight people were injured Sunday morning while riding an MBTA bus in Newton that crashed into a guardrail overlooking the Mass. Pike.
A spokesperson for Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan confirmed the investigation, reported The Boston Globe.
The bus broke through the guardrail and was partially hanging over the Pike.
The bus was ultimately secured by the Newton Fire Department to eliminate the threat of the bus falling down onto the Pike, according to State Police. Seven of the injured sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to MBTA Transit Police.

MBTA Transit Police is investigating the cause of the crash.
