It’s official: Massachusetts Democrats will have three candidates to choose from during their party primary this September: Treasurer Steven Grossman, Attorney General Martha Coakley and former federal health care administrator Don Berwick.

Two other candidates, former homeland security official Juliette Kayyem and former Wellesley selectman Joseph Avellone, did not secure the necessary votes to continue their campaigns during the party convention in Worcester Saturday.

The Boston Globe reports Grossman took home 35.2 percent of the vote, Coakley received 23.3 percent, and with Berwick close behind at 22.1 percent. Kayyem reportedly pulled in 12.1 percent and Avellone came in last, with 7.0 percent.
