Arthur won’t stop for Independence Day. The category two hurricane is on its way up the east coast, and thousands of Massachusetts residents are already without power after last night’s storm.
There are possibly many more outages to look forward to, but have no fear: NSTAR and National Grid offer map tools on their websites to track the number of customers without electricity. So even if you’ll be spending the Fourth of July in the dark, you’ll know how many other people are right there with you.
As of Friday afternoon, Dedham, Waltham, Weston, and Medfield had the highest amount of NSTAR outages with 1,000-2,500 in Dedham and 500-1,000 in the others.
National Grid showed “50+’’ outages in Boston and anywhere from a handful to a few dozen in outside towns:
