Morning Commuter Helps Save Injured Fawn

Around 5:30 am on Thursday a driver paused his morning commute through Seekonk, Mass., to help rescue a fawn he saw limping beside the road, according to WBZ. The man, who reportedly wishes to remain anonymous, held the baby deer in his lap until police arrived.

This image of the Bambi-esque animal was taken in a Seekonk Police cruiser:

The fawn was recovered by animal control and examined at Bristol County Animal Hospital. Only suffering soft tissue damage, the animal is expected to reside at Tufts Wildlife Clinic until it is well enough to be released.

The cause of the fawn’s injury is unknown.
