The Boston Public Health Commission and the Suffolk County Mosquito Control Project are planning to spray a pesticide in parts of Hyde Park Monday to control the mosquito population in the area.
Starting at dusk, trucks containing the pesticide sumithrin are expected to spray near Dale Street, Deforest Street, Austin, Street, and Gordon Avenue.
Sumithrin will be used in small amounts that are not considered hazardous to humans or pets, according to the Boston Public Health Commission. Still, residents are advised to stay indoors during the spraying to minimize their exposure.
