Woman Assaulted on Esplanade, Says Attacker Fled on Bike

A woman told Massachusetts State Police that she was attacked on the Esplanade near Massachusetts Avenue early Friday morning by a man who then fled the scene on a bicycle.

According to The Boston Globe, the attack was reported at approximately 12:25 a.m. after the woman got away and called 911.

Police told CBS Boston that the suspect was described as “Hispanic, short, and bald with facial hear.’’ The report added that at the time of the attack he was dressed in blue jeans and a blue shirt.

In a report from NECN, police said the victim did not report any injuries after being checked by Boston Emergency Medical Services.

According to WCVB, the incident may be connected to a similar attack in May, but is likely not connected to a series of other assaults in the past few years.
