The operator of a 12-foot ship off the Massachusetts coast near Nantasket Beach received a boating under the influence citation after the Coast Guard found his boat disabled and drifting late Sunday night, The Boston Globe reports.
According to the report, the Coast Guard found the boat at approximately 11 p.m. with four people on board, including a apparently drunk operator.
Coast Guard watchstanders at Station Point Allerton received a notification of a 12-foot Boston whaler disabled and adrift at 11 p.m., said the Coast Guard in a statement. On scene, the Coast Guard noticed the operator of the boat appeared to be intoxicated.
