Tsongas, Ogonowski endorsed by Globe, Herald

By Matt Viser, reporter August 28, 07 10:22 AM

The Boston Globe and the Boston Herald this morning announced twin endorsements this morning, to Niki Tsongas in the Democratic primary, and to Jim Ogonowski in the Republican primary.

The Globe called Tsongas "by far the most promising" candidate who "makes up in commitment to the district what she lacks in elective experience." The Herald referred to her stance on ending the war in Iraq as "sensible and solid," and said she was "committed to developing the regional economy."

Both papers praised Ogonowski as a quality candidate, citing his military experience and the story of his brother, who was a pilot of the American Airlines airplane that struck the World Trade Center on Sept. 11.

The Globe endorsements are here. The Herald endorsement for Tsongas is here, and the one for Ogonowski is here.
