Andover: Merrimack Valley People for Peace will hold a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. today in front of the Old Town Hall, 20 Main St. Participants are encouraged to bring candles; ceremony at 8:30 a.m
outside town offices.
Boston: Fenway Park will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a blood drive in the Red Sox Hall of Fame Club. Donors will get a gift and can tour Fenway Park.
Students from six Boston colleges — Simmons, Wheelock, Emmanuel, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and the Massachusetts College of Art — will take part in a procession from Wheelock to Simmons starting at 7 p.m., with a candlelight vigil at 7:45 p.m.
Religious and community leaders in Charlestown will host an interfaith prayer service at 7 p.m., Bunker Hill Monument.
A "Circle of Hope" candlelight vigil will be held at the gazebo at the center of the Boston Common from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Governor Mitt Romney will lead an 8:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the State House.
The Mass 9/11 Fund will host a Public Garden Memorial symbolic groundbreaking at the Boston Public
Garden at 10 a.m. The University of Massachusetts at Boston will have a memorial service at 8:45 a.m.
Burlington: Sing Out for Peace, a Worldwide Musical Celebration of Peace and Remembrance, presented by The Liberty Belle Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, at 7:30 p.m., Burlington Mall.
Cambridge: At 8 a.m., the Fire Department will hoist an American flag at Magazine Beach with the number 343, in honor of the number of firefighters killed on Sept. 11. At 8:45 a.m., City Hall bells will ring for one minute, followed by a minute of silence.
Everett: A Hometown Heroes Reflections Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the Armory, 90 Chelsea St.
Franklin: There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. at the Town Common between Main and Union streets.
Georgetown: The Fire Department will hold a ceremony at 9:45 a.m. at the Central Fire Station, 47 Central St.
Halifax: The Fire Department will hold a ceremony at the fire station, 40 Alderney Dr., 438 Plymouth St., at 8:45 a.m.
Haverhill: A discussion, "9/11 Remembered," will begin at 2 p.m. in the Library Conference Center on Northern Essex Community College’s Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St.
Hopkinton: A group of motorcyclists, escorted by the Massachusetts State Police, will ride from Hopkinton to Ground Zero in New York City, on Sept. 21.
Lincoln: A memorial service will take place at 9:55 a.m. at the Public Safety Building at Codman and Lincoln roads.
Medfield: The Fire Department will hold a ceremony at 10 a.m. at its headquarters, 114 North St.
Natick: Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church, 106 Walnut St., will hold a service at 6 a.m.
Needham: The New England chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, based in Needham, will sponsor its Robin’s Walk along the Boston Freedom Trail on Sunday. The annual walk, which begins at 9 a.m. on the Boston Common, was renamed last year after foundation member and Westborough native Robin Kaplan, who died on American Airlines Flight 11.
Newton: The Newton Senior Center, 345 Walnut St. in Newtonville, will hold a Day of Remembrance luncheon at noon.
Temple Beth Avodah, 45 Puddingstone Lane, will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
Boston College, 140 Commonwealth Ave., will dedicate a 50-foot-wide memorial stone labyrinth on the lawn of the Burns Library at noon in honor of the 22 alumni killed in the attacks.
Norfolk: The 9/11 Committee will dedicate a sculpture and a bench on Town Hill next to Town Hall, One Liberty Lane, at 6 p.m.
Quincy: There will be a ceremony at 9 a.m. at Fire Department headquarters, 40 Quincy Ave.
Salem: Peabody Essex Museum, East India Square, will host a free evening of chamber music.
Saugus: A Day of Remembrance will be held at Saugus Town Hall, 298 Central St., starting at 8:30 a.m.
Sudbury: The town will dedicate a memorial garden at 9:30 a.m. in Heritage Park, at Old Sudbury and Concord Roads.
Springfield: The fire and police departments will unveil a memorial garden during a 10 a.m. ceremony at the Raymond M. Sullivan Public Safety Complex, 1212 Carew St.
Watertown: The police and fire departments will hold a ceremony at 9:55 a.m. at fire headquarters on Main Street. At 6 p.m. there will be a service in Saltonstall Park, next to Town Hall.
Wayland: There will be an interfaith remembrance at 7 p.m. at the Islamic Center of Boston at 126 Boston Post Rd.
Wellesley: A service will be held at 9:45 a.m. in front of fire headquarters, 457 Worcester St.
Weston: At 8:30 a.m., the Parks and Recreation Department will place flags on the Town Green in front of Town Hall on Boston Post Road.
