The Revere-Saugus Riding Academy held a memorial service on the premises Sunday after a fire the previous Tuesday killed three horses at the Revere facility.
According to the academy's stable manager, Jen Pepe, academy owner Wallace Ward spoke optimistically to the crowd about the 30-year-old academy. Councilor at Large John R. Correggio of Revere offered his support to the Wards, Pepe said. She said the business is planning to relocate in the region. ''There are a few [stables] in Reading," said Pepe. ''We are trying to stay as close to the Boston area as possible."
The 16 surviving horses have been moved to local stables, she said. The Revere Fire Department is still investigating the fire's cause.
