Judith Johnson, 63; worked at Kodak

MILFORD -- Judith A. (Chalmers) Johnson, a former Kodak Corp. employee, died Oct. 22 in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital. She was 63.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Wellesley and lived in Milford most of her life. She attended Milford public schools and Milford High School.

Mrs. Johnson was employed at Fenwal Corp. in Ashland and later worked at Sharon Fasteners and Boston Scientific, both in Milford. Before her retirement, Mrs. Johnson worked for Kodak for several years.

She leaves five sons, Paul of Hopedale, Craig of Milford, Wayne of Northbridge, Scott of Milford, and Derek of Hopedale; three daughters, Susan of Uxbridge, Cynthia of Uxbridge, and Kim of Milford; two brothers, Walter Chalmers of Milford and James Chalmers of Northbridge; one sister, Debra Sarwar of Uxbridge; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her former husband, Paul Johnson of Uxbridge.

She was mother of the late Sherry Johnson and sister of the late John Chalmers.

A funeral was held Wednesday in Edwards Memorial Funeral Home in Milford. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford.

Mabelle Maguire, former bookkeeper

MEDFIELD -- Mabelle E. (Taylor) Maguire, a former bookkeeper for Maguire's Drug Store, died in her home Oct. 23. She was 80.

Born in Sedgwick, Maine, Mrs. Maguire was educated in the Randolph public schools and graduated from Stetson High School in 1942. After high school she worked at Charlestown Naval Shipyard.

In addition to working for Maguire's in Medfield, she worked at Jenson's Cleaners in Medfield for the past 20 years.

She is credited with being one of the original founders of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Norfolk, where she was a deacon for many years. She was also a member and former president of the Hannah Adams Women's Club.

She leaves two sons, Arthur G. Jr. and Theodore C., both of Medfield; one daughter, Janice K. Daley of Millis; two sisters, Katherine Anderson of Mount Dora, Fla., and Virginia Cicchini of Penobscot, Maine; and five grandchildren.

She was the wife of the late Arthur G. Maguire and the mother of the late Clay A. Maguire.

The funeral was held Tuesday in Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial was in Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield.

Melvin Goodridge, 78, police officer

NATICK -- Melvin H. Goodridge, a retired Boston police officer, died Tuesday in his home in Natick. He was 78.

Mr. Goodridge was born in Boston and was a graduate of Cambridge Ringe and Latin High School. He lived in Natick for the past 35 years.

Before his retirement, Mr. Goodridge was a member of the Boston Police Department for 34 years, retiring as a sergeant. For many years he worked details at Fenway Park. Following his retirement, he worked at Sam's Club in Natick for the past 10 years.

Mr. Goodridge was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Natick, where he was a member of the choir and served as the chalice bearer. He was also a member of the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association.

He leaves his wife, Carmen (Butcher); one son, Kenneth H. of Framingham; two daughters, Norma E. Jaynes of Framingham and Judith R. of Natick; one sister, Amelia C. Corbin of Somerville; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late James Goodridge, Claudine Goodridge, and Mabel Greene.

A funeral was scheduled for yesterday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Natick. Burial was to be in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
