Parker story didn't cover both sides

I find it disturbing that you would feature such a one-sided celebratory article on the very serious and contentious issue of David Parker, the Lexington father who created a stir in our town through his antigay activism and manipulation of the legal system (''David Parker, at odds with his community," Globe NorthWest, Dec. 22).

It's unconscionable that you allowed your reporter to provide a People magazine version of Parker's alleged heroism, without giving voice to any countervailing perspectives or opinions. Other than the weak statement that the schools did not respond to the reporter's inquiries -- which of course they could not, because this is an ongoing legal battle -- it's obvious no one else was consulted. The product was therefore a laudatory perspective on an individual whose calculating use of the media is not a surprise to those of us who live here in Lexington.
