Emptoris buys software firm

Emptoris Inc. in Burlington has acquired Mindflow Inc., a Texas-based software company. Emptoris, which is privately held, did not disclose terms of the transaction. Emptoris, which has acquired five companies in the past five years and has more than 350 employees, provides software to help companies manage suppliers and contracts.

More space for Automation

Automation Engineering Inc. in Wilmington has moved into a new 16,000-square-foot facility in Wilmington that is designed to handle growing demand. The company supplies precision automation systems for the optoelectronics, medical devices, consumer products, aerospace, and defense markets. The company also announced a sales and service alliance with Palomar Technologies of Carlsbad, Calif., to promote Automation Engineering's products in Asia and Europe.

Battery firm boosts recycling

Uniross Batteries Corp., a global specialist in rechargeable batteries and chargers, has partnered with the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corp. to help residents of that state recycle products and build awareness of the benefits of rechargeable batteries. Those efforts were recognized June 29 at a ceremony at the Rhode Island State House when Uniross vice president Mark Dockser presented the first Uniross ``Power Responsibly" award to John Trevor, program manager of the state agency .

Mercuro joins Derry Medical

Elisa Mercuro, board certified in family medicine, has joined the staff at the Derry Medical Center in New Hampshire. A former practitioner with Parkland Family Practice in Derry, Mercuro received her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo., and completed her training at the New Hampshire-Dartmouth Family Practice Residency in Concord.

Ryan new admissions chief

Pat Ryan has been promoted to admissions manager for The Rehabilitation Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. Ryan, a resident of Milford, N.H., graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1977 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
