Police say that Boston Public Works Department employee Joseph M. MacDonald hit a 64-year-old woman in South Boston with a city snow plow Saturday and fled the scene. The city hired MacDonald, a 26-year-old resident of South Boston, in September 2005 and later assigned him to drive heavy equipment.
