Hamilton joins Greenscapes group

The Hamilton Board of Selectmen recently voted to join Greenscapes North Shore, a public education program focused on environmentally friendly landscaping.

The public education program started on the South Shore.

Now it is being expanded to include North Shore communities through four conservation organizations.

The groups include the Ipswich River Watershed Association, Eight Towns and the Bay Committee, Salem Sound Coastwatch, and Massachusetts Bays Estuary Association.

Greenscapes North Shore will include various outreach methods, including workshops and the mailing of a 20-page "greenscapes guide."

Hamilton will pay a $1,500 program fee, and the North Shore Garden Club will sponsor the mailing.

For general information, those interested in participating can visit the program's website greenscapes.org

For anyone interested in obtaining information specifically related to the North Shore program, please contact Emily Levin of the Ipswich River Watershed Association at elevin@ipswichriver.org or 978-887-2313 .
