A 39-year-old Dorchester man shot inside his home Sunday afternoon died from his injuries Tuesday night at Boston Medical Center, police said yesterday.
The man, identified as Hosteene Isaacs, was killed at a Leroy Street address, in what police say appears to have been a targeted shooting.
Elaine Driscoll, a police spokeswoman, said yesterday that detectives are interviewing witnesses. "Preliminary information suggests that this was not a random attack," Driscoll said.
The death of Isaacs makes him the 26th person to be slain in Boston this year, one ahead of last year's pace through yesterday.
Neighbors on Leroy Street yesterday said they did not know Isaacs.
A public records database shows he moved to the Boston area a couple of years ago from Connecticut. Family members could not be located yesterday.
Police are asking anyone with information on the killing to call homicide detectives at 617-343-4470 or an anonymous tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
