A 38-year-old Dorchester man was arrested yesterday on charges he fatally stabbed a Revere man early Sunday at The 6 House bar in South Boston, police said.
Authorities obtained a warrant for his arrest yesterday afternoon, and Bernard Piscopo surrendered at police headquarters last night.
Piscopo allegedly stabbed Adam Rich, 26, in the chest and stomach during a brawl at the bar.
He is to be arraigned today at South Boston District Court on first-degree murder charges, said Superintendent John Gallagher at a news conference last night at police headquarters.
Robert George , a Boston lawyer representing Piscopo, contacted the district attorney's office and the Police Department's homicide unit and arranged for Piscopo's surrender, police said. George did not return calls last night. Piscopo's family declined to comment.
Police took Piscopo to the station in South Boston, where he was booked and held for his arraignment.
Gallagher would not comment on a motive for the stabbing or whether Piscopo has a criminal record.
Gallagher said that the investigation remains active and that police may be looking for other suspects.
He also declined to comment on whether authorities will seek to shut down The 6 House, as some officials have suggested.![]()
