Rocker says he loses voice, cancels show

Fans were livid last night at the Bank of America Pavilion after British rock star Morrissey abruptly canceled his show 30 minutes into what was supposed to be a 95-minute performance. The former Smiths frontman had complained before the sixth song that his voice was not up to par because he had taped an appearance the previous evening on "The Late Show With David Letterman," in which the frigid studio had affected his throat. He made it through two more songs and left the stage. A Pavilion representative announced that Morrissey had lost his voice and that the sold-out show would be rescheduled, igniting a loud chorus of boos.
