Walnut Hill School in Natick will name its new residence hall in honor of poet Elizabeth Bishop, a 1930 graduate of the school and winner of the 1956 Pulitzer Prize for poetry.

Elizabeth Bishop Hall was built as part of the private high school's plan to grow from 260 students to approximately 320 within the next five years.

The new dormitories for faculty and students were built with a gift from Walnut Hill trustee Charlotte Hall, a friend of Bishop. The poet died in 1979.
