Holiday observed: Monday.

Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion.

Liquor stores: Open.

Supermarkets: Open.

Convenience stores: Open.

Taverns, bars: Open.

Banks: Closed.

Stock market: Closed.

Municipal, state, federal offices: Closed.

Libraries: Closed.

Schools: Closed.

Mail: Post offices closed; express delivery only.

MBTA: Subways, buses, trackless trolleys, and commuter rail on Saturday schedule. Hingham, Quincy, and Hull commuter boat service and inner-harbor ferry service on regular weekday schedule. THE RIDE will operate on a Saturday schedule. For more information, call 617-222-3200.

Boston traffic rules: Meters not in effect. All other parking rules apply.

Trash, recycling collection: Regular collections in Boston proper, South Boston, Charlestown, Roxbury, and in parts of Jamaica Plain that have trash collection twice weekly. Areas of Jamaica Plain that have weekly collections and all other districts delayed one day.
