Decoration
Army Specialist Robert W. Cyrus has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Cyrus, a military policeman/driver, has returned to Alaska after being deployed to Iraq. He is the son of Phyllis A. Powers of Weymouth and a 2003 graduate of Weymouth High School.
Promotion
Air Force Sergeant Joseph T. McBride has been promoted to the rank of master sergeant. McBride, an aerospace propulsion craftsman with 15 years of military service, is assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing, South Carolina. He is the son of Joseph G. McBride of Brant Rock and Betty McBride of Brighton.
Retirements
Air Force Master Sergeant Scott E. Shaw has retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. Shaw was a network engineer formerly assigned to the 375th Communications Squadron, Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, Ill. He is the son of Jean Goble of Middleborough and David Shaw of Maine.
Lieutenant Colonel Michael Davison will retire in June after 20 years in the Air Force. He is the son of the late Cornelius H. Davison and Elizabeth (Van Den Berghe) Davison, originally of Foxborough, now of Grafton, N.H. Davison is a 1982 graduate of Mansfield High School and currently lives in Foxborough. He began his military career as a test pilot, went on to lead a team that flew MiG-29s from Moldova that were purchased at auction, and served as an attache to the US Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He also observed Taliban positions in Afghanistan while wearing a Uzbek Army major's uniform that he later donated to the US Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson.
Mobilization
Army Specialist Kurt S. McCain has been mobilized to deploy overseas. He is the son of Patrick S. McCain of Canton and Beth Ann Turquist of Virginia. McCain is a 2005 graduate of Canton High School.
Graduations
Army Private Andres E. Marin has graduated from advanced individual training as a petroleum supply specialist at Fort Lee, Va. Marin is the son of Maria R. Pagan of Brockton and a 2003 graduate of Brockton High School.
Airman Altes J. Durand has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is the son of Amy Durand of Methuen and Altes Durand of Brockton. Durand is a 2007 graduate of Malden High School.
Airman Lynda J. Wilson has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Wilson is the daughter of Richard and Susan Wilson of Quincy and a 2000 graduate of North Quincy High School.
Army Private Christopher J. Weindorf has graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. He is the son of Ann Connors of Dedham and a 2004 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School.
Army Private Jonathan Browne has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Browne is a 2004 graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School, Mattapoisett.
Army Private Matthew C. Candora has graduated from basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. Candora is the son of James Candora of Abington and Debbie Candora of Brockton. The private is a 2007 graduate of Abington High School.
Army Specialist Robert P. Stubbs has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the son of Jane McCormack of Stoughton and a 2002 graduate of the New Testament Christian School, Plymouth.
Army Private Steven C. Eaton has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the son of Sandra Eaton of Middleborough and Charles Eaton of Rockland. Eaton is a 2005 graduate of Middleborough High School.
Army Private Paul S. Bradley has graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. Bradley graduated in 2006 from Norton High School.
Army Private Alvin G. Fougere has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the son of Lynn Fougere, and grandson of Priscilla Nightingale, both of East Wareham. Fougere is a 2007 graduate of Wareham High School.
Army Private Brian P. Donahue has graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. Donahue is the son of Corraine Donahue of Taunton and a 2000 graduate of Taunton High School.
Army Private Samuel V. Horton has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the son of Janet Lavallee of Mattapoisett and a 2003 graduate of Bristol County Agricultural School.
Army Private Scott E. MacDonald has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the nephew of Michele Ghalager of Hanover and Carol Langer of Connecticut. MacDonald is a 2007 graduate of Hanover High School.
Army Private Jeffrey P. Richard has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the son of Jeff Richard of Stoughton and Elisabeth Richard of Taunton. Richard is a 2006 graduate of Brockton High School.
Army Private Kentorio H. Alexander has graduated from basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. Alexander is the son of Benjamin and Victoria Alexander of Brockton and a 2007 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical High School.
Army Private Timothy S. Garrett has graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. Garrett is the son of Deborah Wirzburger of Whitman and a 2006 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School.
Army Private David M. Sutherlin has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is the son of Michael Sutherlin of Ohio and grandson of David Decelle of Foxborough.
