William Finnigan, investigator; at 75

LYNN - William E. Finnigan, a retired investigator, died June 10 at his home in Lynn.

He was 75.

Born and raised in Lynn, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School and the New England School of Investigation.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Following his discharge, he worked for 20 years as a senior investigator with the Board of Special Investigations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, before his retirement in 1997.

The husband of the late Juanita (Spence) for 46 years, he leaves four sons, William, Scott, Kerry, and Wayne, all of Lynn; a daughter, Jan Monahan of Peabody; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was said Friday in St. Pius V Church, Lynn.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.

Donald Beaton, 85, financial manager

GROVELAND - Donald R. Beaton, a former financial manager, died June 8 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He was 85.

Born and raised in Lynn, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He went on to graduate from Merrimack College in 1951.

He served for three years in the Army Air Force during World War II.

Following his discharge, he worked as a financial manager for L.H. Hamel Leather Co. before starting his own business, Beaton Management Co. He also was an assistant professor of accounting at Merrimack College for 30 years.

He was a trustee of the Haverhill YMCA, a president of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of the Groveland Finance Committee.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Mildred (Whelan); a daughter, Jayne Martinese of Haverhill; four sons, Donald of Haverhill, William of Groveland, and Thomas and Terrance, both of West Newbury; a sister, Dora (Beaton) Sullivan of Lynn; and 16 grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was said Thursday in St. Patrick's Church of Sacred Hearts Parish, Groveland. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Frances E. Boucher, shoe stitcher; at 79

HAVERHILL - Frances E. (Fortier) Boucher, a lifelong Haverhill resident, died June 9 at her home. She was 79.

After attending local schools, Mrs. Boucher worked for many years at several Haverhill shoe manufacturing companies as a stitcher.

The wife of the late Oliver Boucher for 60 years, she leaves four daughters, Patricia Jalbert of Kingston, N.H., Andrea McCracken and Darlene Rembis, both of Haverhill, and Heidi Nooney of Tewksbury; two sons, Joseph of Newburyport and Glenn of Methuen; a brother, Richard Fortier of Millis; a sister, Barbara (Fortier) Marcotte of Haverhill; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was said Thursday in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial was in Maplewood North Parish Cemetery, Haverhill.
