Children of liberty
Today, 6/29: "Boston by Little Feet" brings you the Freedom Trail's history and architecture from a child's point of view. With the help of an explorer map, kids will locate historical sites, like the first public school in America. Designed for children ages 6 to 12, it is an hour-long guided tour. In front of Faneuil Hall, Congress Street side, near Sam Adams statue, 2 p.m., rain or shine. Arrive 10 minutes before start. $8. 617-367-2345.

Play ball - and music
Tuesday, 7/1: To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the classic sing-along, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," the Boston Pops orchestra, conducted by Keith Lockhart, brings the sound of the stadium to center stage. Listen to other baseball-inspired songs, like "The National Game," by John Philip Sousa. Symphony Hall, 301 Massachusetts Ave., 8 p.m. $19 to $87. 617-266-1492.

Hungry for Hitchcock
Saturday, 7/5: After some chilled cantaloupe soup with Maine lobster and fresh mint, it's time for the feature presentation: Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." It's part of the Hitchcock dinner and a movie series at the Hampshire House, 84 Beacon St. 7 p.m. $30. 617-227-9600.
