BRIDGEWATER-RAYNHAM
NEW SUPERINTENDENT - Jacqueline Forbes will take over as superintendent of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District on Aug. 4. She is the former schools superintendent in East Providence, R.I., and the third to head up the Bridgewater-Raynham regional school system in five years. George Guasconi served a year as the district's top administrator. Prior to Guasconi, Robert McIntyre was superintendent. Forbes was chosen from a pool of 24 candidates. The regional school committee negotiated a salary of $149,500 with Forbes for the first year of her three-year contract. Salaries for the other years are to be negotiated. The contract also includes two one-year options to extend the agreement, according to School Committee chairman Gordon Luciano. Luciano said Guasconi will stay on through August to assist Forbes in her first month. - Christine Legere
