CONCERTS

Norwood: Summer is the time to enjoy free concerts outdoors. On Sundays, the Concerts on the Common are held in the Walter J. Dempsey Memorial Bandstand, on Washington and Nahatan streets, from 7 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 31, rain or shine. Tonight, the Mass College All-Star Jazz Ensemble will entertain. On Wednesdays, from 7 to 9 p.m., the Norwood Arts Council sponsors a concert series, also at the Memorial Bandstand. This week is Pi Alley. 781-762-1240.

Plymouth: The concert series at Pilgrim Memorial Park on Water and Leyden streets is held Wednesdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Project Arts of Plymouth presents the River Run Summer Concert Series, sponsored by the A.D. Makepeace Co. On Wednesday, California Transit Authority with Danny Seraphine, Marc Bonilla, Mick Mahan, Larry Braggs, Ed Roth and the Denns, Texas swing band. On clear nights Bill Luzader from the Plymouth Planetarium sets up a telescope for stargazers. Free. 508-747-7727, projectarts.com.

ARTS

Scituate: In a rainbow of colors and a full range of mediums, the greens of the marshlands, low tide browns, and dusk or dawn skies over azure blue waters can be found through Aug. 31, at the Front Street Art Gallery, 124 Front St. All summer, the gallery will feature paintings of local marine and ocean scenes and landscapes by local artists. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. 781-545-6150.
