Army Lieutenant Colonel Dean J. Romdeau has been activated for deployment to Iraq. Romdeau, a civil affairs chief of operation and intelligence, is normally assigned to the 304th Civil Affairs Battalion, Philadelphia. The lieutenant colonel graduated in 1981 from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.

Army Specialist Michael P. Houston of Hyde Park returned home from deployment in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Houston is the son of Michael and Sheila Houston of Franklin and a 1994 graduate of Don Bosco Technical High School in Boston.

Airman Hector M. Rivera graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Rivera is a 2005 graduate of East Boston High School.

Airman Dorixa I. Gonzalez graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is the daughter of Amparo Almanzar of Dorchester and a 2004 graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School.

Army Private Carmine M. DiMaggio graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. DiMaggio is the son of Eva-Marie DiMaggio of East Boston and Carmine Annetti of Dedham

Army Private Christian J. Santos Agosto graduated from basic training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. Santos Agosto is the son of Mildred Agosto and Gabriel Santos, both of Hyde Park. He is a 2007 graduate of the Urban Science Academy.

Senior Airman Michael A. Brait Jr. has graduated from the Air Traffic Control Operations Apprentice Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. He is the son of Michael A. Brait of West Roxbury.
