Artist Liz Shepherd demonstrates her printing technique in her Cambridge studio. Shepherd's installation ''I Don't Know the Details'' opens Sept. 12 at the Essex Art Center in Lawrence. The show explores ''the gulf between the experience of tragedy and the attempt at its articulation.''
The image is terrifying for what it doesn't show. There is no sign of overt violence in the digital print of red chairs tumbling out of a sunset sky. The viewer fills in the blanks, sensing a nameless fear and a clutch of panic, as memories of a terrible moment, seven years ago today, are triggered. (Full article: 638 words)
