Coverage offers skewed view of South Boston
I was greatly disappointed when I read your Nov. 16 article "Early sound of Christmas music breaks peace of a silent night," which was more appropriate for a police blotter column. I can only conclude that this is how the Globe views the South Boston community.
One of the preceding articles was about Rosie's Place and the other about the Boston Redevelopment Authority's involvement in a development project. The South Boston article could have been about the Pop Warner team in the playoffs, the upcoming Laboure Center House Tour Event, etc. I would have even settled for one of your usual South Boston articles on fund-raisers and events that take place at some local venue like the World Trade Center.
What was headlined as a Christmas carol story turned out to be a crime report, but it's what the neighborhood has come to expect from the Globe.
