As a Chinese immigrant who talks regularly with other Asians in the United States, I must say that the author of the study you reported (City Weekly, Nov. 23), which claims that most Asians are sympathetic to Latinos' views on immigration, must not have spoken with a wide spectrum of Asian-Americans or Asian immigrants. Sensible Asian immigrants/Asian-Americans understand that the United States is bankrupt and that some sort of immigration moratorium is warranted, since we have well over 10 million unemployed Americans. Most Asians who have not collected welfare are outraged by the welfare abuse in the immigrant community (and among native-born Americans).
