An editor's note to Globe Northwest readers

Globe Northwest to be discontinued

You'll see some changes in The Boston Globe's regional sections after today's edition. But one thing that won't change is our commitment to local news - in our regional sections, in the daily Globe, and via our growing online efforts on Boston.com.

Globe Northwest will no longer be published. Readers who currently receive Globe Northwest will get either Globe West or Globe North twice a week, and they will include communities previously covered by Globe NorthWest.

If you live in the following communities, you will begin receiving Globe North on April 2:

Andover, Billerica, Burlington, Chelmsford, Dracut, Lawrence, Lowell, Medford, Methuen, North Andover, North Reading, Reading, Somerville, Stoneham, Tewksbury, Tyngsborough, Westford, Wilmington, Winchester, Woburn, and, in New Hampshire: Amherst, Bedford, Brookline, Derry, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Londonderry, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Pelham, Salem, and Windham.

If you live in the following communities, you will begin receiving Globe West on April 2: Acton, Arlington, Ayer, Bedford, Belmont, Boxborough, Brookline, Carlisle, Concord, Dunstable, Groton, Harvard, Lexington, Littleton, Pepperell, and Shirley.
