LIQUOR STORE SHUT FOR NOW - The JP Beer and Wine store will remain shuttered while the owners wait to appear before the state’s Alcohol Beverages Control Commission. A divided Board of Selectmen voted late last month to deny a request from the Salem Road liquor store to stay an order to revoke the business’s license. The selectmen had unanimously revoked the store’s license on June 8 after police caught a clerk illegally selling alcohol to a minor for the third time in 18 months. The owner of JP Beer and Wine, Dhir Corp., is scheduled to appear before the ABCC on July 22 to appeal the selectmen’s decision to revoke the store’s license.- Brenda J. Buote
